Wait... what?!

Our prayers have been answered, and we don't even remember asking for this particular miracle. But here we go: the good people at Mars have invented a Crispy M&M's chocolate spread.

Excited? You could say that...

Yes, I know. This is the news we've been waiting for. Well, kind of. I mean, you've probably not been hitting refresh on a Google search on an hourly basis or anything... but still! Sometimes the greatest truths sneak up on you unannounced, and what we all know now is that we all wanted this product, deep down.

You can buy a 350g jar of Crispy M&M's spread in Asda for £2.79 ($4), which isn't too bad at all. The spread was spotted by ProductsInStore and it looks incredible. Just imagine cracking open a jar of this stuff.

Nah but seriously, imagine this on bread. Or on top of cupcakes. Or just eating it with a spoon. Or just slathering it all over your tongue, because really, who has time for utensils or pleasantries when confronted with something like this? Hmm, might have gone feral here. DON'T JUDGE ME.

Crispy M&M's were first unleashed upon the world in 1999 and were slightly larger than normal ones, with a crispy (of course) wafer centre. They've been a firm favourite with chocolate enthusiasts around the world ever since - hence the introduction of the spread, presumably.

They were discontinued in the US between 2005-2015, but thankfully sense prevailed and our American cousins have been able to gorge themselves silly on the popular snack ever since.

This week, M&M's unveiled their latest commercial, released to coincide with the Super Bowl - the largest celebration of sport and commerce the US has to offer.

This latest advert sees our old pal Red bemoaning the number of people who've tried to eat him that day (who can blame him? M&M's a redelicious), only to find a lucky penny and transform into a human. And that human just happens to be none other than Danny DeVito.

Having gleefully confirmed that his new human body means no one wants to eat him any more, Red then discovers the perils of dropping that lucky penny, as he's immediately hit by a truck and cannons into a fruit'n'veg rack.

So, is he permanently Danny DeVito now? We need answers.
