There are many factors that contribute towards a successful brew - from the amount of milk that gets sploshed into the mug through to how long you let it steep for.

Get it right and you're a hero among men, but get it wrong and you become the office enemy faster than you can say, 'One lump or two?'

But while you're busy pondering the variables of hard or soft water, there's one way to ensure at least the foundations of a good cup of tea are there - and that all lies in the tea bag.

After all, do you really want to be the cheapskate that whips out a supermarket's own brand, which sometimes tastes like murky dishwater. Equally, you don't want to produce anything too poncy, involving leaves foraged from the foothills of the Himalayas. Somehow, I don't think that would go down too well with the builders doing up your downstairs loo...

Well, according to LADbible readers, Yorkshire Tea makes the best tea bag - which is particularly good news given that today is also Yorkshire Day.

In a LADbible Twitter poll, Yorkshire Tea came out on top with 46 percent of the vote, closely followed by PG Tips and its famous a pyramid-shaped bag with 31 percent.

With just 14 percent of your clicks, Tetley barely got a look in - but at least it beat Twinings, which came last with a measly nine percent.

"Good old Yorkshire tea," one Twitter user commented.

"Yorkshire Tea. Anything else is wrong," another said.

Other suggestions in the comments section gave kudos to Barry's, Ringtons and even 'Red Label from Aldi', while others rightfully pointed out that it often depends on what kind of water you have where you live.

And it's not just you lot that favour Yorkshire Tea, which bills itself as 'a proper brew, pure and simple' - it turns out Liam Gallagher is also a fan.

In footage from recent rockumentary As It Was, which was released on 7 June, Gallagher declares his love for tea before being asked which bag is the best.

Liam replies: "Yorkshire... PG Tips - f*** off."

Well, that's settled then.
