Fans of Red Dead Redemption been waiting months for the release of the iconic game's second installment, with gamers itching to get their hands on it.

The new game is set to be a prequel to the original, centring on outlaw Arthur Morgan, one of the Dutch Van der Linde gang, but details about the storyline are scarce.

We have already reported on the new edition's massive download size, large array of wildlife and online game mode, but fans have been on tenterhooks (whatever they are... I mean, I've never seen a tenterhook) to find out more about how the game will finally look.

Since the first part of the game play trailer was released earlier this year, fans have been on the edge of their seat waiting for another sneak peak of the game.

Well the wait is over, Rockstar Games have finally dropped the second installment of the gameplay trailer, and quite simply it looks incredible.

This time around players will be able to explore the stunning mountain scenery, get stuck into bar room brawls, and settle scores through one-on-one pistol duels.

Rumours have been on going for some time about what players can expect from the much-loved video game.

For example, it's been reported that Red Dead 2's non-playable characters (NPCs) have the ability to hunt you down - without warning throughout the entire game - if you kill their family members.

So you might want to think twice before going on a bloodthirsty rampage.

But as well as all-out retribution, NPCs can also have their own unique conversations that will activate when Arthur, the game's protagonist, walks by them.

This includes compliments, taking the mick out of your gang members' looks, and letting you know that you smell. I guess that's pretty cool.

And you don't even have to walk past NPCs to engage with them. You can just stand there and watch them from 'impressively far distances', according to Rockstar Intel. Not creepy at all.

Another nifty feature is the weather. When it gets a bit chilly Arthur even puts his coat on automatically to avoid the cold. However, you are warned that ultimately it's up to you to wrap up underneath.

If you don't, be ready for the consequences - extreme temperatures can have a major impact on your character's health.

But it's not just Aurther who feels the cold, oh no. Red Dead Redemption 2 will feature super realistic biological reactions from the horses - including shitting and shrinking balls.

Well after watching the new gameplay trailer we can't wait to get our hands on the real thing.

Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on 26 October for Xbox One and PS4.
