Trump Just Announced The Sale Of A Fighter Jet That Doesn't Exist

In a press conference with the prime minister of Norway, Donald Trump announced the sale of some F-52 fighter jets, but they aren't real

Computer games have become very life-like in recent years. Better graphics and enhanced AI have made the likes of Call Of Duty as close to reality as possible, so you can engage in deadly combat on a worldwide scale in real time without the risk of actually being shot and killed.

Now it seems the game has become actual reality - at a joint press conference with Erna Solberg, the Norwegian prime minister, Donald Trump announced that the US had sold the Scandinavian country a fighter jet that only exists in Call Of Duty.

"In November we started delivering the first F-52s and F-35 fighter jets," he announced. "We have a total of 52 and they've delivered a number of them already a little ahead of schedule. It's a $10 billion order.

"Norway also invests about one-third of its sovereign wealth fund in American businesses supporting hundreds of thousands of American jobs," he went on to say. "They're very big investors in our stock market."

Now, while it is true that Norway has purchased 52 fighter jets from American aerospace firm Lockheed Martin, they're F-35 jets, not F-52 jets, because F-52 jets only exist in Call Of Duty.

Now obviously, Norway bought 52, so you could chalk it down to an easily-made slip of the tongue, except that Trump also mentioned F-35s in the same breath. Which is just a bit weird. Unless, actually, the F-52 is a top secret fighter plane that we weren't supposed to know about.

Whatever the case, the blunder got a whole host of Trump's critics talking about the mistake on Twitter.

Of course, Erna Solberg didn't correct him, so perhaps they do know something we don't, after all...
