Man pleasured himself so intensely that he tore his lung and needed to go to hospital

The anonymous man ended up in the ER after suffering from ‘spontaneous pneumomediastinum’.

A man tore a lung and ended up in hospital after pleasuring himself a little too hard.

According to Radiology Case Reports, the anonymous man ended up in the ER after suffering from ‘spontaneous pneumomediastinum’ from a little too much pocket pinball.

"Spontaneous pneumomediastinum is a rare condition and usually affects young men in their twenties," the doctors said in the report.

"It can result from a variety of triggers like acute asthma exacerbation, strenuous physical exercise, excessive vomiting or violent coughing."

The 20-year-old man reported suffering from sudden onset of sharp chest pain followed by shortness of breath as he was lying in bed and masturbating.

While he was examined in hospital, doctors noted that his face had become swollen, with cracking and rattling sounds heard from his lower jaw down, down his neck and chest, and to his elbows.

As a result, the young man was moved to intensive care with severe dyspnea and chest pain.

His mild chest pain was successfully treated with paracetamol and antibiotics, and he remained in intensive care for three days.

Finally, the patient was transferred to the general ward, where his symptoms continued to lessen before he was discharged home.

Pneumomediastinum is an extremely rare condition that affects the respiratory system.

It's caused by air travelling to the upper chest and accumulating after the air has leaked from the lungs, airways or bowel, as per WebMD.

The main symptom is typically severe chest pain as well as difficulty in breathing.

While this is a rather unusual way to pay for a trip to the ER, it certainly isn’t the first time this has happened, and it won’t be the last.

Next time, hopefully, these lads practice a little self-love with more tenderness.
