Mum Shares Tip To Get Cinema Tickets And Sweets For £2

Not bad for a rainy Sunday afternoon

A mum has shared a decent tip for anyone looking to find something to do with their kids over the course of the summer holidays.

How does getting tickets to the cinema for just £2 per ticket sound? Oh, and chuck a couple of bags of sweets in to sweeten the deal?

That's the dream, right there.

To most parents, that could be something of a lifesaver. Not only can the long summer holidays be difficult, it can also be incredibly expensive, particularly if you've got to work.

Not only have you got to find some way to look after both your kids and your job, you've also got to keep your little ones entertained.

Well, the cinema would seem like the perfect option, particularly if - unlike today - we're in for the sort of British summer that we've become accustomed to.

Anyway, one resourceful mum has discovered that if you buy a couple of packs of Starburst from Tesco for the princely sum of £1 per pack, you can then get a cinema ticket as part of a promotional offer.

Here's a bag of the aforementioned Starburst.

Sure, that only sorts you out for a Sunday visit to the pictures, but that ticks a few boxes and could give parents either a precious couple of hours of rest, or - if you're up for it - a few hours in front of one of Disney's many tedious live action remakes of old animated classics.

It's up to you.

Kirsti Higgins shared her discovery to Facebook and said: "Just a heads up for anyone trying to save money but wanting to go to the cinema during the summer holidays.

"The big packs of Starburst are on offer in Tesco for £1 a bag, as part of cinema Sunday's you need 10 stars to get one cinema ticket.

"These packs are worth 5 stars each, so works out to £2 per ticket, you get a code inside the bag which you need to enter online. You can get the tickets emailed to you which they scan at the box office or you can enter your code online if you book in advance.

"Just booked 2 tickets to see The Lion King for £4 (went last weekend though and it worked).

"You can go to most cinemas except Odeon."

There you have it.

You could even have a little sleep.

Seems as if her idea has been a popular one, too. Since it was posted, this gem has been shared 1,700 times and received nearly 4,000 comments.

That's presumably from other parents who can't believe their luck.

So, if you're looking to entertain the little 'uns for a couple of hours this summer, why not give this a crack?
