Europe’s Tallest And Fastest Rollercoaster Is Open And It Looks Sick

Hope you're not scared of heights.

I've been on my fair share of rollercoasters at some of the big theme parks but this one looks set to top them all.

Imagine being strapped into this beast of a ride and feeling the same sensations as a Formula 1 driver.

Let me introduce you to the Ferrari Land theme park in Salou, Spain.

The Italian car brand's theme park is spread across 70,000 square metres with attractions designed to entertain both the timid and the adrenaline junkies.

While there are plenty of attractions - it's the Red Force which is grabbing everyone's attention.

The ride is officially the fastest and tallest in Europe and genuinely looks amazing.

Once you're locked in your seat and the green light flicks on, you go from zero to 112 mph (180 km/h) in just five seconds. That's the equivalent of experiencing a G force of 1.35.

You also climb a whopping 112 metres above the ground during the ride.

Ferrari test driver Marc Gene joined Piero Ferrari, the vice-chairman of the iconic brand, for the grand opening.

But if that doesn't float your boat, there are shops, restaurants and a simulator which allows you to drive a Ferrari through the streets of Rome.

They've also reserved a spot for the ultimate F1 fans by giving them the chance to compete against each other to change the wheels on a full-sized racing car.

But if you want to cross off some of the other best rollercoasters in the world let me do the research for you:

The fastest in the world

While the Red Force at Ferrari Land in Spain is Europe's fastest rollercoaster, it's big brother ride Forumla Rossa at Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi takes the cake and throws it on the ground.

This behemoth ride shoots out of the starting blocks and reaches nearly 150 mph (240 km/h) in less than five seconds - giving you an impressive G force of 4.8.

Check out this video of Ferrari drivers completing the ride:

Tallest rollercoaster

You'll have to fly to America to climb to the most terrifying heights. The Six Flags Great Adventure Park in New Jersey features on a few lists for some of the best rollercoaster rides.

But it's the Kingda Ka which can boast to be the tallest in the world. Riders climb a long hill until they drop 137 metres (450 feet), which is roughly 45 stories. The drop is also pretty much at a 90 degree angle.

Longest ride in the world

If you're willing to be strapped into a very small carriage and taken on the longest ride in the world then you'll have to go to Japan.

The Steel Dragon 2000 Nagashima Spa Land amusement park in Nagashima at the turn of the millennium.

It spans a lengthy 2.48km or 1.54 miles. The Steel Dragon is the second fastest in Japan and sixth fastest in the world.

Most inversions

If you're a particularly skilled adrenaline junkie then the Smiler at Alton Towers, Staffordshire, UK is the ride for you.

While you only reach speeds of up to 85 km/h with the highest drop being 30 metres (98 feet), the ride takes makes 14 inversions.

Unfortunately the ride was the subject of a horrific accident in 2015 when a loaded train collided with an empty one. 11 riders required medical treatment with five seriously injured.
