The woman who became an internet pariah after she stole an Uber driver's tips has responded to the criticisms made of her - and the 18-year-old is sticking to her guns - she still doesn't seem to give a fuck.
Gabrielle Canales was caught on camera slipping her hand into a tip jar whilst cruising around New York. You've probably already seen the footage, but I reckon it's worth a rewatch anyway:

She saw what she wanted and then she took it, regardless of whether it was the tips of some low-wage worker. At one point, she seems to reconsider, retracting her hand from the box with a jolt, but then she decided to go for it anyway.

By the time the taxi driver glanced and noticed what had happened she'd legged it the fuck out of there. But after the footage was posted online earlier this week she was exposed.

However, writing on her Snapchat she claimed she 'only took five dollars' and that the video was filmed three months ago.

She also allegedly posted an image of the taxi footage and described herself as a 'Spanish mami', jokingly adding the hashtag #makesmartchoices.

Uber has said her account has been terminated and that this sort of behaviour would not be tolerated on its app.
"What's been shown has no place on our app and the rider's access to the app has been removed," a spokesperson for Uber told MailOnline.
