Halloween isn't too far away and if you're looking for something genuinely terrifying to do, then why not head to Six Flags in Eureka, Missouri, where you can spend 30 hours inside a coffin?

Yup, this year the theme park is hosting The Fright Fest 30-Hour Coffin Challenge on 13 October and as well as giving you plenty of (rest in) peace and quiet, there's also some pretty sweet prizes on offer if you manage it.

Six Flags

Those who are able to stay in the coffin from 1pm on Saturday 13 October until 7pm on Sunday 14 October, will win $300 (£230), two 2019 gold season passes to Six Flags, VIP passes for the Haunted House (which is probably the last thing you'd feel like doing after spending more than a day in a coffin) and other goodies in a Fright Fest Package, including two tickets for the Freak Train for Freaks Unleashed.

If all that isn't quite enough to get you signing up, you'll also get to keep the coffin - and those things are expensive, so think of the savings you'll make.

The park will be providing the coffins as well as meals, snacks and drinks - all to be consumed inside the coffin - and participants will be able to bring a friend along during the Six Flags' opening hours, but they'll need to do the rest of it alone.

As well as having a staff member nearby to keep an eye on things, participants will be allowed one six-minute toilet break every hour. And they might need it, because there's also random visits from the 'Fright Fest Freaks', which are bound to have people shitting themselves.

The rules are pretty simple, you have to stay in the coffin, other than during the permitted toilet breaks, for the full 30 hours. If anyone steps out for any other reason they're disqualified. The winner is whoever manages it for the full period time - if there is more than one person who stays in the coffin for 30 hours the winner of the cash prize will be decided via a draw.

If you fancy the challenge, it's open to anyone 18 or older, so long as they're able to lay in a coffin and don't have any medical reasons that would rule out doing so for 30 hours. You can register your interest here. You have until the 4 October, so don't hang around if you fancy the chance to act like a vampire for a bit.
