Woman Cancels Wedding A Week Before Because Her Husband Watches Porn

She found tabs open on his phone that contained some totally non-PG stuff

Marriage is a big decision - you've got to be sure that you're making the right choice for both you and your partner.

However, you'd have to expect that you'd have a pretty good handle on them before you actually decided that you're going to go through with it. That's not always the case.

One woman from America has cancelled her wedding to a man she described as 'her best friend' just one week ahead of the big day because - wait for it - he was looking at pornography on his phone.

Well, if she's not happy, then she shouldn't be getting married to him, I guess.

Claire Dalton

Claire Dalton revealed her decision in a post for the blogging site Love What Matters. Basically, the 21-year-old had grown up as a young girl wishing to find a love that was 'true and pure' as well as 'governed by God's law'.

She almost had exactly that, until just days before she and her fiancé were due to be wed when she discovered that he had several tabs open on his phone that contained some less than savoury images.

She said that he'd obviously been watching porn just hours earlier and that he had "multiple windows open of sick and twisted ideas of what women supposedly look like."

She continued: "I felt like I'd been cheated on. It changed my entire relationship with him, including all the happy memories we had shared in the past. It made me feel worthless and unlovable."

Incidentally, it's not just a one-time thing. The realisation that he'd more-likely-than-not been watching porn for the years they'd been together hit home at the same time.

She added: "Someone I loved and cared for deeply had been expertly lying to me for the entire length of our relationship, and possibly longer, since we had been friends for so long."

"All at once, I was with a stranger instead of the person I thought I knew so well. In an instant I could never trust those lying eyes ever again.

"All I ever wanted in a relationship was honesty, and it quickly occurred to me the only honesty I'd known at that point was fake."

Fair enough. There's no point doing anything if your heart is no longer in it. This all actually happened a year ago, but only now does she feel comfortable sharing her story.

She offered some advice to other women in her position. She wrote: "Experiences like this MUST BE TALKED ABOUT because keeping quiet only leaves deeper wounds and undeniable scars.

"My hope is that someone who reads this knows she's not the first one to go through something similar, and it's okay to hurt for a long long time."It's okay to take time to grieve. It's okay to feel broken. And there IS HOPE FOR HEALING."
