A US woman has completely beaten the odds and managed to win the lottery a staggering 30 times in one day, bagging herself $150,000 (£115,230).

Deborah Brown, Virginia in the US, bought 20 Pick 4 tickets for the Virginia Lottery; with all of them having the same four digits for the same draw on 11 February. She decided to purchase 10 more tickets later in the day - again going for the number combo of 1-0-3-1, NBC News reports.

She explained: "A couple of times during the day, I saw those numbers." Adding that she was 'really feeling it'.

And she was right to do so, because low and behold, when the lottery was drawn later that day those numbers rolled out meaning that all of her 30 tickets scooped the $5,000 (£3,841) top prize - 30 times, netting her an impressive $150,000 in total.

Seeing that her numbers had come up, Deborah said she 'nearly had a heart attack', which is a pretty standard reaction, I reckon.

Speaking to a representative of the Virginia Lottery she said she doesn't have any immediate plans for her winnings but is considering some home renovations.

The top prize for the $1 (77p) game is $5,000, with the chances of matching all four numbers in the correct order standing at 1 to 10,000.

Deborah isn't the only lucky lottery winner to hit headlines lately - earlier this week, an unnamed person from South Carolina won $877 million (£665m) in the US Mega Millions draw after kindly letting someone else go ahead of them in the queue in the KC Mart where the winner was bought.

In a statement, the South Carolina Education Lottery Commission revealed the piece of good fortune which helped land the anonymous winner the mind-boggling top prize.

Saying that the person 'marvels at how every decision made that day brought [them] to the store' adding that 'a simple act of kindness led to an amazing outcome'. Nothing like a bit of (almost) instant karma, is there?

It was also good news for C.J. Patel, who owns the shop where the big winner was bought, because the commission handed over $50,000 (£38,410) to him, too. Not bad, eh?

Speaking to CBS News, Patel said: "It's good attention and good for the community, you know?"
