Johnny Depp Suggests Amber Heard Didn't Like His Tattoo Dedicated To Winona Ryder

Johnny Depp has suggested Amber Heard was behind the alteration to a Winona Ryder tattoo he had on his right arm

Johnny Depp has suggested that Amber Heard didn't like his tattoo dedicated to Winona Ryder.

Depp took to the witness stand for the second time today (20 April) during his libel case against Heard.

Speaking from a courtroom in Fairfax County, Virginia, the Pirates Of The Caribbean actor responded to Heard’s claim that he hit her for the first time when she commented on one of his many tattoos.

Depp denied the incident ever took place and suggested Heard was behind the alteration to a tattoo dedicated to his ex-girlfriend, Winona Ryder, that he had on his right arm.

Depp and Ryder dated between the late 80s and early 90s, during which time he famously had ‘Winona forever’ inked on his upper arm.

Eventually, Depp had the tattoo changed to ‘Wino forever’, a move he’s now hinted was influenced by Heard.

Although Depp didn’t specifically state that Heard had expressed disapproval of the tattoo or asked for it to be changed, he did point to its amendment when asked whether Heard had objected to any of his tattoos.

He also claimed that Heard had asked him to get a tattoo about her, adding that once he did, ‘everything started going sideways’.

“I was doing what he could to bring a smile to her face rather than a frown,” said Depp.

Elsewhere during today’s testimony, Depp drew parallels between his marriage to Heard and the tumultuous relationship he had with his mother, Betty Sue, who he alleged a day earlier was abusive towards him when he was a child.

Depp said: “If there’s a dialogue between two people, both people need to speak. But there was no way to fit a word in. It was a sort of rapid-fire, endless parade of insults.

“You start to slowly realise that you are in a relationship with your mother, in a sense. And I know that sounds perverse and obtuse, but the fact is, some people search for weaknesses in people.”

Depp also claimed that Heard had asked him to get a tattoo about her.

The court was also shown a photo of Depp’s partially severed finger, which the actor claimed was a result of Heard throwing two vodka bottles at him while they were in Australia back in 2015.

Revealing how the incident affected him, Depp said: "I don’t know what a nervous breakdown feels like, but that’s probably the closest that I’ve ever been."

On Tuesday, Depp’s private doctor Dr David Kipper said during a pre-recorded deposition that he had received a text from the actor that read: “I cut the top of my middle finger off… What should I do!?? Except, of course, go to a hospital…. I’m so embarrassed for jumping into anything with her… F**K THE WORLD!!! JD.”
