UFC star Conor McGregor McGregor has hit headlines again today - this time after footage surfaced that appears to show him punching a man in the head while in an Irish pub.

According to TMZ, the incident took place at The Marble Arch Pub in Dublin on 6 April, but CCTV footage has only just emerged and been obtained by the website.

While it had been reported to police, who opened an investigation, no further news on charges has followed.

The entertainment site claims McGregor came into the pub and lined up glasses for patrons at the bar, intending to fill each with free shot of whiskey - specifically, his whiskey, Proper Twelve.

One man chose to opt out, twice rejecting the cup McGregor placed in front of him, in turn supposedly angering the MMA fighter.

Video footage shows a man believed to be McGregor throwing a punch at the man, striking his head, before two people grab him and pull him away from the bar.

It is not clear whether or not a verbal exchange also took place during the incident.

According to the Irish Mirror at the time, Gardai (the state police force of the Republic of Ireland) confirmed they were investigating an alleged assault at the Marble Arch pub on Saturday.

One local punter told the Irish Mirror back in April about the alleged bust-up, saying: "There was a bit of a commotion, he [McGregor] was acting the mick and there was an incident.

"There weren't many people in the bar at the time, there was drink involved.

"The man that was allegedly assaulted is from Ballyfermot and drinks in the pub a good bit."

Another person told the newspaper: "McGregor was being a show off in the pub and one man didn't like it and went up to have a word with him."

A third claimed someone had approached McGregor and made a jibe about Khabib Nurmagomedov, the Russian fighter who beat 'The Notorious' in a fight for the UFC lightweight title last October.

LADbible has contacted Gardai to confirm whether or not the case is still active, and has reached out to The Marble Arch Pub in Dublin for comment.
