Kanye West is a busy guy.

When he's not uttering profound philosophical teasers on Twitter, cosying up to (or planning to take over from) the 'Leader of the Free World', he does occasionally make music.

It's easy to forget because of all the hype, controversy, and madness, but he's really good at it too.

Lucky for us then, that he's taking a break from his plans for world domination to return to the summit of another world. He's announced that the sequel to his album with Jay Z - 'Watch the Throne' - is to be released soon.

Of course, he did it in enigmatic fashion on Twitter with a tweet that simply read: "throne2 coming soon".

This is excellent news. The first 'Watch the Throne' album has rightly been referred to being among the very best musical collaborations ever. Two of hip-hop's finest artists at the top of their game. Bring it on.

It was released back in 2011 and saw Jay and 'Ye land the number one spot, sell multiple platinum certified amounts of copies, and bag seven nominations at the Grammy Awards.

It produced singles such as 'H-A-M', 'Otis', and - of course - 'N**gas In Paris'.

However, it looked for a long time as if it would only ever be a one-off. Kanye stopped a gig once to tell everyone present that it wouldn't happen again due to "political shit".

Well, it looks like whatever that shit was has been resolved. It had been thought that Kanye's partnership with Apple, alongside Jay Z's allegiance to streaming platform Tidal, was the major elephant in the room.

When he stopped the performance for one of his trademark rants, West explained that he didn't appear alongside Jay on Drake's 'Pop Style' because of the complications.

He said: "There will never be a Watch the Throne 2. You know why? Because that's the reason why I wasn't on the song. I wasn't on the song 'cause of Hov, 'cause of this Tidal, Apple, bullshit.

"And this shit be getting me tight every time I perform this motherfucker. Y'all didn't get what y'all was supposed to get with me and Drake on this because of this Tidal, Apple, bullshit."

Remember when rap beef was about guns, gangs, and money? Well, it's still about money at least, even if it is essentially an argument over a streaming platform.

But at least the album is going to happen now. As to when..? Well, we're all waiting for that news.
