Arctic Monkeys bassist Nick O'Malley has reportedly confirmed that the band began recording their new album this month, he also said when fans can expect it out.

It comes after a number of photos of the group in the studio emerged earlier this year, sparking speculation that work had started on their sixth album.

According to NME, O'Malley recently spoke to motorcycle website For The Ride, with the article stating that "Nick found time for the track day before recording began on the eagerly anticipated sixth album, started at a secret location in September. The new album will be out next year because 'if it isn't, we've got problems'."

It comes after Turner took a break from the Sheffield band to reignite the embers of The Last Shadow Puppets with Miles Kane, releasing Everything You've Come To Expect. Now though, after what feels like far too long, it looks as if Turner, Helders, Cook and O'Malley are on their way back.

'The Agile Beast' Matt Helders also uploaded a picture of his drum kit surrounded by microphones back in May, making it look as if he's laying down some beats for an album.

To add fuel to the fire, Cavalli posted a picture of Alex Turner on April 26 on what looks like the same piano that's in Helder's picture.

Let's hope they give us some solid news sooner than later.

Recently Serge from Kasabian told NME that he felt that his band, Arctic Monkeys and The Libertines were the only rock and roll groups about. This might not be entirely true, however, with Kasabian releasing For Crying Out Loud, and a Monkeys' album seemingly on the horizon, they'd certainly be ruling the charts.
