A fifth person has been confirmed dead following Wednesday's Westminster terror attack.

Detectives who launched an investigation have announced that the victim, a 75-year-old pensioner, passed away tonight.

He had been receiving medical treatment in hospital following the horrific attack but had his life support withdrawn earlier this evening.

His family have been informed and are currently receiving support from family liaison officers.

Earlier today, the family of Aysha Frade, 43, killed in yesterday's terror attack on Westminster had described her husband's feelings following her untimely death.

Aysha Frade was reportedly on her way to pick her kids up from school when she was killed in the tragic incident. Her husband, John, was at work.

The attacker, Khalid Masood, had mowed down innocent citizens on Westminster Bridge before stabbing PC Keith Palmer to death.

Her husband's cousin, also called John, told The Evening Standard: "I can't even put it into words how he's [my cousin] feeling. His life's completely fallen apart because of what's happened. They've got young kids.

"When I heard I was just absolutely shocked. I'm still just feeling terrible, it's a terrible thing to happen and you just don't expect it to happen so close to home in this way."

An American tourist, Kurt Cochran, has been named as another victim of the attack.
