Last week an incredible video emerged from the city of Idlib when an aid worker for the Syria Civil Defence Force managed to scoop a girl from the rubble after an airstrike. The worker was clearly affected by it, bursting into tears in an incredible show of humanity that was shared across the world.

Abu Kifah rescued Wahida Ma'artouk from her home that had been obliterated, reportedly either by Syrian or Russian warplanes, and has since met her family who now live on farmland in rural Syria.

Wahida is just a month old and is thankfully now safe, with just a few cosmetic injuries to her face, although the family are currently living in extreme poverty.

22-year-old aid worker Abu was determined to meet the little girl again, but this time he managed to hold back the tears, according to Mail Online:

"I felt like she was my daughter again," said Abu.

"I carried her in my arms again and the night of the rescue came back to me. But I did not cry again!

"Her father was happy to see us again. We were together there, and I was delighted to be with them."

Abu reunited with Wahida.

Apart from a few scratches, Wahida is not physically harmed.

The father, Yehia, had actually gone to buy his son a toy when warplanes bombed their home in Idlib. Again talking to the Mail, the father recalled the whole ordeal:

"I did not see him [Kifah] taking Wahida to the hospital but when I saw the video later, I knew that he was a great man."

Tragically, Yehia's three-year-old daughter, Sinar, died in the airstrike after the building collapsed.

If you wish to see the iconic, incredible footage of Abu pulling Wahida from the rubble, here it is.
