There are plenty of ways to celebrate after winning a lawsuit of any kind.

But when it involves close to $100,000, then you know you need to round up your mates, crack open the champagne and have a massive night. Well, that's what one bloke from the Bronx did, but instead of bringing his mates along, he decided to spend his evening with a few prostitutes.

It seems as though Saul Mata Vellegas literally went straight from the courthouse to the Van Cortlandt motel for a fun night in, as he was carrying around a suitcase with $96,000 (£68,000) in cash. It's reported the money was from a lawsuit related to a car accident.

According to the New York Post, the 30-year-old had sex with the women, who, after the romp session, asked if it was cool if their 'friend' could stop by to deliver some alcohol and cigarettes.

Now, if you're carrying around that type of money, the last thing you'd do is tell people about it. But whether he told the sex workers about it or they found out about it on their own accord, it didn't turn out well for Saul.

The next morning the 'friend' arrived and it ended up being two guys who wore masks and pulled out guns to take that suitcase off Mr Vellegas. The thieves were gone as fast as they came and Saul has been devastated by robbery.

"I am haunted by this," he told police. "I keep playing it over in my mind. I was surprised they pulled a gun.

"I said 'What is going on'. I yelled 'Help, help'. I was depending on that money to move my family. I am nervous all the time now. I keep replaying it over and over. I see the weapon they used clearly over and over. I needed that money badly."

The New York Police Department has released CCTV video of the three sex workers they believed were involved in the brazen robbery.

They say the first woman is described as 'Hispanic, early 20's; last seen wearing a blue and white jacket with a pink mini dress', the second is 'Hispanic, 20 to 30 years old; last seen wearing a black coat brown hat, and brown pants', while the last member is 'Hispanic, 20 to 30 years old; last seen wearing a black dress, black jacket, and leg high black boots'.

Saul will obviously be hoping for a quick arrest as you imagine what people would do if they easily acquired a suitcase with $96,000 inside.
