British Airways Is Offering Skiing Holidays For As Little As £150

If flying down a hill strapped to planks of wood is your thing...

Hey! I don't know if you're the sort of person who goes outside, but if you do, you've probably noticed that this bizarre, cold, white stuff has started falling from the sky.

If you're familiar with this phenomenon and enjoy sliding down a hill with sticks tied to your feet on top of it, then perhaps British Airways can tempt you into a cheap holiday, thanks to a deal that the company has got on at the minute.

Skiing, as it's known, is a popular activity that combines this 'snow' with extreme sports, extreme cold, and hot chocolate with brandy in it. It's usually only for folk with double-barrelled names who went to a school that had turrets on it, but now you can get away for as little as £150 per person.

Yes, for just a small amount you could jet off to get pissed on the piste with all your mates. Or after it, anyway - it's not called 'après ski' for nothing.

This is all part of BA's January sale and includes a whole load of European destinations to choose from - including a load that are great for first time skiers.

Obviously, you might wonder at what kind of ski holiday you'd get for that amount, especially given that it is usually so expensive, but there might even be some spots on the list that you've heard of.

Get pissed on the piste - why not, eh?

The full list is pretty exhaustive (and exhausting) but here are just a few destinations to pique your interest.

First off, that £150 amount will get you as far as Bansko. That's in the south of Bulgaria and you could be there this March, staying in a four-star hotel, should you so desire.

OK, so that's pretty much as far as you're gonna get for your £150 quid, and you'd have to imagine you'll still have to hire some skis once you get there, but it's still not bad.

For just a wee bit more (£227) you could go to Andorra. Sandwiched away in the Pyrenees between France and Spain, the tiny nation of Andorra is well known for the calibre of skiing resort.

At £227 for bed and breakfast, that's still a great deal.

Of course, if you're a bit more wedged you could pay that little bit extra to get to one of many well-known ski resorts such as Chamonix, Innsbruck, or Davos. However, if you're a beginner - and bearing in mind that you'll still have ski hire and piste passes to pay for - you could do worse than heading off to Bulgaria or Andorra.

Or you could wait until it snows properly in the UK, take the wheels off a skateboard and go careering down a hill at your local reservoir. That's a pretty quick way to find out if snow sports are for you.
