The marriage of infamous prisoner Charles Bronson is reportedly on the rocks - and that's because he's apparently made some pretty strange demands from wife Paula Williamson.

A source close to the couple told the Mirror said that Williamson was gutted by his latest jail brawls, as these have slashed his chance of parole.

But on top of that, the source also claimed that Bronson has demanded that his wife does 400 sit ups a day, warning her: 'Don't get fat'.

The source said: "Paula loves him dearly but this year has been a string of disasters for them as a couple.

"She was upset when she learnt he had been moved to a prison hundreds of miles away because he went for the deputy governor.

"They were hoping for a successful parole hearing and he'd start to move towards release but by losing his head he's put their future in jeopardy."

Bronson and Williamson got married last November - though Bronson has been married a couple of time before.

His first wife was from a time when he wasn't in prison, but his second, Fatema Saira Rehman, saw his picture in the paper and visited him in prison ten times before they got married. That marriage lasted four years.

At the time that Williamson - wife number three - got engaged to Bronson, she referred to them as the 'perfect match.

"I've had relationships with both men and women in the past but none of them come close to my love for Charlie. He's so eccentric, but so am I," she told The Sun.

"It's a perfect match. I know he has a public image of being a violent prisoner, but in reality he is so different.

"He can never change the things he has done in the past, but he is working so hard to put that behind him.'

She added: "There are obviously difficulties that him being in prison cause our relationship, but we feel so strongly about each other we're determined to make it work."

Earlier this year it transpired that Bronson could be waiting a little while longer for his freedom, having been moved from HMP Wakefield to HMP Frankland after reportedly punched and made death threats to a prison guard in a spat about Bronson's wedding to ex-Coronation Street actress Paula Williamson last November.

Bronson, apparently angry at not having been allowed to attend his own wedding reception last year, reportedly lunged at a deputy governor and punched him in the incident on 25 January. He was then restrained by guards.

A spokesperson for the Prison Service has confirmed that an incident occurred at HMP Wakefield.

"There is a police investigation ongoing, so it would be inappropriate to comment further," the spokesperson said.
