Two drunk Brits have been forced to apologise after footage emerged of them drunk on the floor of a Cambodian police station.

James Donaghue, 40, and Josh Little, 27, were told to write a letter promising to be 'good tourists' in future following the incident in the country's capital city Phnom Penh.

The inebriated pair were caught catching some shut-eye on the tiled floor of an interview room, with one lay under the table and the other beside the wall.

The two mates had earlier been arrested for disturbing the peace after wandering into the Turkish embassy at around 5am.

The two men were photographed asleep in the police interview room.

According to reports, the two holidaymakers were incoherent at the time of their arrest.

After writing out their heartfelt apology, James and Josh then had to seal them with their thumbprints and were told that if they were caught being loutish again, they would face prosecution.

In their letter, they wrote: "I will not make any trouble or cause any problems in Cambodia. I will obey the Cambodian law. I will help Cambodia by being a good tourist every time I visit this wonderful country.

"In case (sic) need me to come over I am happy to come at any time."

The two men were forced to write a letter apologising for their drunken behaviour.

At the end of their joint statement, the two men said: "I am James Donaghue and Josh Little. We would like to apologise for what we have done. It was a bad mistake and would like to promise that it will never happen again."

On this occasion, they were both released without charge.

Police told the men if they were caught again they would face prosecution.

This isn't the first time Brits have caused a stir while enjoying their travels. Earlier this month, a group of tourists were at the centre of a police manhunt after they paraded around the Polish city of Krakow in bright green mankinis.

The four mates didn't leave much to the imagination as they rode around the city on a horse-drawn carriage, in the costume made famous by Sacha Baron Cohen's character, Borat.

Though their identity remains a mystery, the bizarre outfits were believed to have been for the purposes of a stag do and one of the mates was spotted with a tattoo of the England flag on his arm - giving away his nationality.

But it seems the joke didn't go down too well with locals, who weren't impressed by the sight of their hairy bodies.

Guys, if you go on holiday, have fun - don't be like James and Josh.
