Homes Evacuated In Derry Due To Suspected Car Bomb Explosion

A suspected car bomb has exploded outside court houses in Derry, Northern Ireland.

Pictures from the scene show a car on fire and police have warned members of the public to stay away from the area.

The explosion is believed to have taken place at around 8.15pm.

A tweet from Police Service Northern Ireland said: "Police are in attendance at the scene of an incident in Derry/Londonderry city centre.

"We would ask for patience and co-operation of the public and the business community as we carry out our initial investigations.

"Any info to 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
