An Insulate Britain protester has been arrested after glueing himself to a police van in London. Watch the footage below:

Earlier today (4 November), the activist had glued his hand to the vehicle and footage shows officers removing the glue before dragging him into the back of a police van.

In a clip shared by BBC journalist Greg McKenzie, a policeman asks the protester if he could remove his hand from the police van.

To which, the protester responds: "Unfortunately I'm stuck to [the van].

When asked why, he said: "To highlight government failure to act on the climate.

"We have 8,500 people each year, that's a hundred a day in winter, dying of fuel poverty.

"That's the government's own data.

"We have a situation here where we've got some of the leakiest homes in Europe and we know that we've got to reduce our CO2 emissions."

He went on to say: "50 percent of this country's CO2 emissions come from uninsulated houses.

"Italy is paying people 10 percent on top of the cost up to €100,000 for insulating their homes.

"Our government is not.

"They're condemning our kids, our grandchildren, to war and famine.

"Boris Johnson a few days ago actually said there will be contests for water and food.

"Contests for water and food is war."

LADbible has contacted the Met Police for a comment.

A spokesperson for Insulate Britain has recently said the public 'don't understand' the reasons why they are protesting in motorways properly, and has explained what it will take for them to bring an end to the disruption.

The group of climate activists, who are associated with Extinction Rebellion, have been causing disruption on the UK's roads for some time now, asking for the government to take decisive action on the climate crisis, as well as insulating all homes in Britain to help efforts to preserve the planet.

Tracey Mallaghan, who has herself taken part in two roadblocks and spent a week in prison as a result, explained: "You need to disrupt the general public to break through the media deadlock.

"I really didn't want to believe that [and] I don't want to be doing that.

"We've tried all of this stuff over two years, [but] we're not getting fair media coverage.

"Insulate Britain was set up to disrupt the public because you have to disrupt enough normal people that the media then has no choice but to report on it.

"Then, it has to cost the government money, which blocking the motorway does. That's the arteries of this 'business as usual' that is killing us."
