A male escort has revealed how he packed his corporate job in to pursue a career as a male escort - now charging between AUD $400-$6,000 (£222-£3,336) for his services.

Speaking on The Morning Show, Ryan James, 31, said he was inspired by a previous girlfriend who worked in the same industry to quit his finance role.

"I didn't tell them [my family] at first. When I did get started I told my friends pretty quickly. My family found out a little later," he said.

"It was a bit of a mixed reaction. They don't treat me any differently because of it. It's probably not the kind of thing parents would choose for their children but they still treat me well."

James explained his most popular request was a 'dinner date', which involves an evening meal with a woman - and all the usual mealtime chat that comes with it - before heading back to a hotel or the client's apartment.

James refers to this as the 'luxury date night' package, charging $3,500 for six hours of 'pampering and pleasure' or $4,500 (£2,502) for an overnight sleepover and a bit of brekkie in the morning

He said he finds the work very 'rewarding'.

Speaking to the Daily Mail a while back, James also explained that typically women aren't just looking for sex from the experience.

"Pretty much every single client that I see there's some companionship element to the booking," he said.

"From what I see, men are more focused on the sexual side of things. Women are focused on the sex too, they wouldn't come to see me without it, but we spend a lot of time talking as well."

James feels there's still a certain level stigma surrounding women using escorts, adding: "The way I describe seeing an escort is any girl could go into a bar and ask a guy to go back to hers and get a back massage. A lot of guys would say yes.

"But he's not a massage therapist. She might enjoy it, but he's not a professional. If you want a certain sexual experience, it's much harder to find exactly what you want, but an escort can provide that."

He explained the youngest client he's had was 20, which was a rarity, but said most people would be surprised to see the range of women he calls clients.

"Many of the women I see could easily go to a bar and pick a guy up and have sex that way," he explained.

"But they want a different experience.

"Sometimes it's that they've been recently divorced, or they're still married but haven't been intimate in a long time. I've had clients who are couples who want a threesome and women who are virgins."

Well, I'll bet it's pretty different to working in finance...
