A man has been arrested and charged with sexual assault after accidentally confessing to having sex with a woman who was passed out, during an interview for a job as a police officer.

21-year-old Tyler Ray Price was speaking to a police officer during the interview when he said that he had once had sex with a woman who was passed out after a night of drinking, South Charleston Police say.

He then went on to say that he had filmed the encounter on his phone.

When police later spoke to the woman in question, she said she had never consented to sex with Price and that she had no knowledge of the incident and that she didn't know there was a recording.

Price, from Nitro, West Virginia, has been charged with second-degree sexual assault.

Police spokesman Lt Pat Rader told WCHS: "We always want to ensure we have the right people.

"We had got to know him a bit and it [was] only when he came for an interview that it all went bad."

Price is currently being held on $25,000 (£20,234) bail.
