Kensington Palace has announced that Prince Harry and Meghan are expecting their first child.

The news broke as the happy couple arrived in Australia as part of their tour.

According to early reports, she is around 12 weeks pregnant, with the baby due in spring.

Speculation about a new royal baby has been swirling pretty much from the moment Meghan walked down the aisle in May and ramped up over the weekend when the Duchess was spotted wearing a loose-fitting long coat at Princess Eugenie's wedding.

According to reports, the Queen and Prince Philip were able to congratulation the proud parents-to-be in parents at the wedding on Friday.

BBC's royal correspondent Jonny Dymond, said: "The Queen was told, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the Duchess of Cornwall - they chose that day to spread the happy news around and then recover and relax, get on a plane and then put out the news for the rest of us."

The new little bubba will be seventh-in-line to the throne.

The couple on their first official royal tour since they got married back in May. She was papped earlier today carrying two large folders over her stomach, which caused a bit of a stir, with people thinking she was hiding the hint of a bump.

On social media, people are delighted with the news as congratulations pour in from Joe Public and a host of celebrities.

Now, of course, thoughts will turn to the gender of the baby and people will be betting on the new royal baby's name. For now, Diana and Arthur are top of the pile, with Edward, James and Victoria also getting a mention.
