While a trip to New York is on the bucket list for many people, it's not known for being the cheapest of getaways - with hotels costing an arm and a leg (yup, even the supposedly 'budget' ones), and that's before you've even factored in parting with your spending money for some sight-seeing.

Then, of course, there's the cost of flights, which can be seriously hefty if you're travelling across the pond from the UK.

However, the Norwegian airline might just have the answer for you, having released some super cheap flights to the USA next year - one million super cheap flights, to be precise.

Having unveiled its summer fares for 2020, Norwegian is giving early birds a chance to catch the Big Apple's worm, with prices starting from just £157 each way.

You can opt for economy seats to enjoy the cheaper side of the deal, or use the opportunity to upgrade to a premium cabin, which comes with perks such as extra leg room, complimentary drinks, a meal, two checked bags at 20kg each and seat reservation.

Either way, you'll have to be quick, as the cheapest rates are subject to availability.

New York isn't your only choice, either, as Norwegian has other Stateside options for you - including, based on a one-way journey from London Gatwick: Boston from £157 in economy, £472 in premium; New York from £157 in economy, £542 in premium; Orlando from £172 in economy, £602 in premium; Tampa from £172 in economy, £602 in premium; Denver from £187 in economy, £602 in premium; Miami from £192 in economy, £602 in premium; Austin from £197 in economy, £602 in premium; San Francisco from £197 in economy, £602 in premium; and Los Angeles from £197 in economy, £602 in premium.

There's also a generous window of time for travel, with fares available for selected dates from 29 March to 30 June 2020, so head on over to the Norwegian website to have a browse at your options.

Just think you could do with all the extra money you've saved. You could treat your travel companion to a musical on Broadway! Take a day trip to Coney Island! Soak up some art at the Museum of Modern Art! Chow down on some two-star-Michelin grub at Midtown Scandinavian joint Aquavit!

Or, of course, you could just go and get pissed without waking up to the fear of checking your bank account. Now that is living.
