Paramedics Are Being Left Kind Notes And Money 'For Coffee'

Paramedics Are Being Left Kind Notes And Money 'For Coffee'

After a spate of rude notes being left on ambulances faith in humanity is being restored

It seems obvious to come to the conclusion there is some kind of emergency happening if an ambulance has the sirens going, the blue lights flashing and park a bit haphazardly, right?

With those life-threatening emergencies in mind, paramedics definitely have plenty to deal with without people leaving rude notes on their windscreen complaining about the amount of time they've been parked 'in the way'.

With this (somehow) being an issue, and one ambulance even getting slapped with a fine, it's lovely to see that the everyday heroes are now finding they've been left positive messages from members of the public thanking them for their hard work.

The pleasant craze has gone nationwide - with someone even leaving a tenner for paramedics to get a coffee. The money was beside a note which was spotted by community first responder, Carol Lewis, from South East Coast Ambulance Service.

The message, which was pinned to the window, said: "You're blocking our drive. No worries buy a coffee when you can," and there was a £10 note left along with it, tucked underneath the windscreen wiper.

The ambulance crews and paramedics are amazed to see people recognising the hard work they put in.

Ambulance Technician Gary Turley, said: "The note was a really nice surprise, very generous and much appreciated.

"I'd like to thank whoever it was that left it. It was really appreciated. It had been a challenging shift and to find this halfway through was lovely."

The cheeky note which was left in Faversham, Kent, seems to mock rude words that have been left by members of the public that are thoughtless to the fact that the ambulance is only blocking their drive in order to save someone's life.

Another heartwarming note was found on an ambulance in Camberley, Surrey, last month. It said: "Just wanted to say a massive thank you for being out at all hours of the day and night and being true heroes.

"I can't begin to imagine how hard your job must be so have some breakfast on me. Once again, thank you so much."

The kind gesture has been branded a 'brilliant internet sensation' after support for the nice notes surged on Facebook with many commending paramedics as 'local heroes'.

One said: "Love it - that's how to get your message home and give these local heroes a treat."

Another added: "The kindness of people never surprises me. What does surprise me is that the money was still there when they got to their ambulance."

A third note was found by paramedics in Flint, North Wales. The team were pleasantly surprised to find the message and a fiver attached to the ambulance when they returned after seeing to an emergency.

This memo said: "Thank you for blocking my driveway to save a life. Refreshments on me."

Ambulance crew member, Aimee Louise, took to social media to respond to the kind gesture. She said: "Returning to the ambulance after a call to find this heartwarming message tucked under the wiper. Absolutely made our day. Such a heartwarming gesture. Thank you so much kind stranger."

The craze has come in pleasant contrast to the spate of rude and abusive notes being left for paramedics who've attended emergency situations.

Only last month East Midlands Ambulance Service shared a photo of a nasty note they found their vehicle - which was parked subsequently blocking a driveway.

The note said: "You blocked my driveway. I waited 45 minutes for you to move. Please have some consideration where you park the ambulance. This is not the first time."

Lee Brentnall, service manager, said these rude notes can be upsetting to crews.

Back in May, Motin Miah, 38, from London, was charged with a public order offence after he left an angry note was left on an ambulance.

While the paramedics were treating a patient who was suffering from a heart attack, a note was left threatening to smash the ambulance.

The note, which was printed in capital letters, said: "Warning this is a private parking space next time it will be smashed."
