Pizza Shop Employees Stop Armed Robber – Who Turns Out To Be Their Old Boss

In a news story that sounds like it's been ripped straight from an episode of Scooby Doo, pizza shop employees heroically took down an armed robber - only for him to be unmasked as their old boss.

The robber had jumped over the counter of Northeast Pizza in Barre, Massachusetts, and hit one of the employees with the butt of his gun before grabbing $164 (£116). But the brave shop workers weren't having any of it, and managed to wrestle him to the floor, and managed to hold him down until the police arrived.

When the cops made it, WCVB reports that the robber was then unmasked, only for the employees to recognise the man as their former manager, Sean Coulson - who had been fired last summer for coming to work drunk and giving away free pizza.

Coulson told the police that he was acting out a prank, but unsurprisingly neither his former employees nor the cops found it particularly amusing - with both Coulson and the pizza shop staff receiving minor injuries from the incident.

"We did not perceive it as a joke, obviously we did not respond as a joke. I'm sure that Mr Coulson is understanding that it's nothing to be joked about," police said.

Not amused.

Police also later determined that Coulson's gun was in fact a fake.

CCTV footage shown in the news report above show how Coulson sprang up onto the counter and jumped behind the till, forcing an employee to open the cash register before grabbing fistfuls of money.

"The guy came through the door, fully concealed with glasses, ski mask, gloves - you name it, he was fully covered up," Kosla explained.

"I was just frozen in my tracks," Pizza shop worker Trevor Kosla said.

"I didn't have the time to think about a plan or anything like that, so I just reacted."

However, as he tried to roll back onto the other side, the staff joined forces and grabbed him, tackling him to the floor of the shop and restraining him while they waited for the police - and the big reveal.

"I was definitely shocked by it, completely shocked," Kosla continued. "You know, I know him well personally."
