A Met Police spokesman has since confirmed that the incident is "not linked" to the earlier terror attack in Westminster.
Concerned residents have been speculating over the incident on social media, with some suggesting officers are 'looking for someone'.
Another tweeted: "Police cars and ambulances are swarming Kennington right now. Sat on a bus outside."
A Met spokesman said officers were 'called to reports of a group fighting there' and were informed that someone had been stabbed.
