It's always good to get some shut eye during a long flight. If you time it right and sleep through it then you can end up feeling like you've teleported to another side of the world.

And, getting some sleep for Qatar Airways customers has just got that little bit easier after it launched the first-ever double bed in business class.

The airline has unveiled what it's calling 'QSuites'. They allow passengers in adjoining middle seats to create a double bed by reclining their seats and removing partitions between them.

You can also put up partition panels to create a 'mini bedroom' to get some privacy - which, if you're thinking what I'm thinking, also means joining the mile high club also just got that bit more convenient.

Sadly, if like me you're part of the unwashed majority who find ourselves skint the week after payday, the QSuites will only be available in Qatar Airways' Business Class cabin - and fares start from £1,600 ($2,160) one way.

The carrier's senior vice president for Europe, Jonathan Harding, described the Qsuite cabins as a 'first class product in business class'.

He said: "It's a revolutionary, brand new, game-changing product which we are going to roll out across our business class fleet, raising the business class experience to a new level.

"We have the first double bed in the sky so people travelling together are able to avail themselves of that.

"If you're travelling by yourself you get privacy, particularly in one of our window seats, but our quads can be configured in a way that is very flexible and comfortable."

Aviation analyst Alex Macheras told the Daily Mail that Qsuite is 'the best business class in the skies today' and praised its 'very comfortable bed, beautiful on-board decor and furnishings'. He added: "I'd fly Qsuite over heaps of other first class products in the industry."

Looks a sick way to fly.
