Satisfying read.

A vile pair of white racists from Georgia, USA, have been handed a combined sentence of 28 years for aggressively interrupting a black child's eighth birthday party with Confederate flags.

Kayla Rae Norton, 25, and Jose Ismael Torres, 26 - reportedly parents to three of their own children - drove with a convoy of trucks, waving Confederate flags and hurling disgusting racially-charged abuse at a Douglasville, Georgia family as they celebrated a boy's eighth birthday party in 2015.

On Monday, Superior Court Judge William McClain described the pair's actions as being "motivated by racial hatred," and sentenced Torres to 20 years, with 13 to serve in prison, and Norton to 15, with six to serve. He also noted that the couple would have been aware of white supremacist Dylan Roof's attack on a predominantly black church only a month earlier, which left nine dead.

Once released, Norton and Torres will have to adhere to a ban from Douglas County.

The young parents, reportedly members of a group called 'Respect The Flag', were joined by other racists who assisted them in inciting fear and hatred at the young child's birthday celebration. The group shouted that they would 'kill y'all n*****s,' while brandishing flags, before driving off to terrorise a nearby Wal-Mart store in a similar fashion.

During the pairs' sentencing they appeared to show remorse for their actions, with Norton saying: "I do accept responsibility for what I've done," as she fought back tears.

Norton addressed the victims directly in court: "What happened to you is absolutely awful."

"From mother to mother, I cannot imagine having to explain what that word means."

Torres broke down in tears as his family took to the stand, describing him as a hardworking plumber, devoted father and part-time football coach.

"The worst decision I've ever made in my life was to not walk away when I had the chance," Norton admitted to his victims in court.

Twitter users are thrilled with the ruling, sharing their thoughts on the social network:

Their hateful attack came just one month after Dylan Roof murdered nine black men and women in cold blood at a Charleston church.

Roof entered the church on the evening of June 17th, 2015 and opened fire with a handgun.

The killer had previously been stopped by police several times for intimidating behaviour and on one occasion was found to have a semi-automatic rifle and 40 rounds of ammo stashed in his car as he loitered around downtown Columbia.

The 22-year-old white supremacist was recently sentenced to death. During his sentencing in court he showed no trace of emotion.
