A shopper has been caught on camera verbally abusing a security guard, in a London supermarket, telling him he doesn't 'belong here'.

The shocking incident was captured by another shopper at the Sainsbury's Local store on Woolwich Road, and has been shared online.

The man launches a torrent of abuse at the unsuspecting security guard, screaming, 'what are you fucking doing here?', into his face.

The irate customer then carries on: "You're telling me what to do. I belong here. You don't. Fuck off."

A number of other customers and staff jump in to defend the guard, telling the man to calm down and to move away.

But despite their best efforts to calm the situation down, the pensioner doesn't appear to be interested.

He tells them: "He's telling me what to do.

"You heard what I said. I belong here. I'm trying to get served. It's got nothing to do with you."

And despite the level of abuse the member of staff is being subjected to, he remains calm throughout the video and doesn't respond to the foul-mouthed customer.

The woman filming the video then steps in and demands the shop refuse to serve him.

She says:: "The man is doing his job, it's not about where he comes from.

"Do not start on me because I was born here. There's kids in this shop, who wants to serve you? 'Damn cheek. Do not serve him, this is out of order."

Staff refused to serve the man and escorted him out of the shop. He then screamed: "Fuck you, fuck this shop, fuck the lot of you."

He added as he left: "This is why this fucking country is in the state it's in."

According to the Metro, Miranda Slade, who lives up the road from the shop, said the woman who videoed the altercation, showed her and staff the footage on Saturday.

She told Metro: "The lady said that she wanted it on camera as she believed the man was going to physically attack the staff and she was also worried that he would be backed up by people committing an acid attack.

"But I'm not sure if this is something the man threatened, or just what she feared.

"The staff told me that the gentleman in the video is actually a well-known regular, who is normally very pleasant to the staff, however on this Friday evening he came in drunk and aggressive."

Sainsbury's has been contacted for a comment.
