Many of us are used to struggling a bit when it comes to finding a good gift for our old man, usually opting for something safe like socks, beer or, ermmm... Actually, that's about it. That wasn't the case for this kind-hearted guy, who surprised his dad with quite the display of generosity.

Yep, putting all of us and our sock-buying ways to shame, Jason Madsen forked out to give his dad something he really wanted for his birthday - a Chevrolet Chevelle.
The 33-year-old has always been close to dad Bob, 62, but now that he enjoys a successful career in real estate, Jason felt he was able to truly treat him.

In the heartwarming video footage, you can see Bob grow emotional as he realises that the car with a giant bow on its bonnet is for him, having walked out of his house to help unload the family boat.
Josh, Jason's brother, said: "Dad has wanted a Chevelle for as long as Jason can remember.
"Jason has always wanted to give back to his father in the biggest way he could.
"His dad has always been a hard worker and still is, so Jason has wanted to give him the car he has always dreamed of.

"So after finally getting into a financial position to be able to make the large purchase, he started looking for the car."
With his finances finally in place, Jason then decided to plan the moment that he'd reveal the thoughtful present to his unsuspecting father, roping in a couple of family members in on the secret.
"It was 100 percent a complete surprise," Josh said.

"Only a handful of us knew about it. He had no idea at all. He thought his son was in town to celebrate his birthday and go fishing.
"He was told to come around the backyard to help unload the Jon Boat.
"Bob was completely shocked and surprised. You can hear him say several times in the video 'what did you do?'.
"Jason was emotional but managed to keep it together. He was very nervous but excited to finally have the day, he's worked so long for this to come true."

I mean, I'd love to say this should be food for thought the next time your dad's birthday rolls around, but don't want to give mine too much hope that I'll be able to start dishing out cars for gifts...
