Being in the crowd at Beyonce and Jay Z's On The Run II tour would probably be a treat in itself for most people, but one girl found that there was yet more excitement in store for her. Like, $100,000 levels of excitement.

Beyonce and Jay Z were performing at the State Farm Stadium in Phoenix, Arizona, and were also surprising one teen with a $100,000 (£76,000) scholarship.

DJ Khaled was on stage to do the honours, referring to the moment as the 'best part of the night'.

He said: "On The Run II tour will acknowledge an extraordinary individual making a difference in this world.

"Tonight a student will receive a $100,000 On The Run II scholarship presented by the queen herself, Beyonce, and also the king, Jay Z."

He then gave a shout out to members of the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Phoenix, who had been invited to the concert, explaining that the scholarship would be going to one of them - before shouting out Mikayla's Lowry's name to rapturous applause.

"I'm so grateful, this is crazy," Mikayla said to a camera. "I didn't even expect this - I'm shaking!"

According to the BGCMP website, Mikayla is a senior at Trevor Browne High School and has excellent grades, with a 3.7 GPA.

She's currently dual-enrolled at Estrella Mountain Community College and will graduate this year with her completed Associates degree - and is the first in her family to attend college.

She later to pursue a degree in Marine Biology or Forensics at GCU or Northern Arizona University.

Not only is Mikayla a smart cookie, she's also volunteered many hours with BGCMP's Better to Give programme, where she serves in soup kitchens and shelters. Oh, and she was even named the Youth of the Year.

Throughout their tour, Beyonce and Jay Z will be surprising an exceptional student with financial needs in each of the 11 cities, planning to award a total of $1.1 million in scholarships.

Another recent winner was Houston, Texas teen Alezae Uresti, who has always wanted to go to college.

According to ABC, the Ball High School senior is one of four siblings who comes from a single-parent home.

Alezae also met Queen B after the concert, telling ABC: "I didn't know what to say, and she gave me a huge hug and Jay-Z was just like chilling, you know.

"So I gave her a hug and then after that, me and Beyonce took a picture and I told Jay-Z, 'Come on, come on, get in the picture', so we all took a picture."

Her mum, Rosa Marsh, added: "I screamed, cried because it's a blessing, because the thought of sending your child to school and not knowing where you going to get the money from."

Way to go, Mikayla and Alezae.
