Two little boys are lucky to be alive after they were buried under a pile of bricks.

Shocking CCTV footage, believed to be filmed in China, shows the two children playing close to an unstable stack of bricks and rubble while a woman watches on.

As several bricks topple off the pile, the woman rushes forward and seemingly attempts to grab the kids out the way, but it's too late and the bricks come crashing down, leaving the children buried under the mound.

The footage then shows a number of people digging through the pile to free the kids.

According to local reports, both boys were rescued from the mound and rushed into hospital where they underwent treatment for their injuries.

Their current condition is unknown.

After the clip appeared online, many people jumped in to criticise the woman for leaving the kids to play so close to the dangerous tower of bricks. Thankfully, on this occasion, there were plenty of people around to jump in and offer their assistance, but it could have been a very different story.

Earlier this year a woman in the UK died after a pallet of bricks fell on her.

The pallet fell 70ft and hit Michaela Boor, 29, while she was out in Tower Hamlets. Eye-witnesses described hearing a 'loud crash' and people calling out for an ambulance.

Despite receiving CPR at the scene and being rushed into hospital, she sadly died of her injuries.

The bricks were dropped from a crane working on a new housing development.

An investigation was opened into the death, between the Health and Safety Executive and the Met Police.

A spokesperson from HSE said: "Inspectors have attended the site and are making ongoing enquiries in conjunction with the Metropolitan Police to investigate the circumstances of the incident."
