You Can Now Get A Fry Up Inside A Loaf Of Bread

You Can Now Get A Fry Up Inside A Loaf Of Bread

Because sometimes a fry up just isn't enough, apparently...

They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. But why start the day with a meal when you can start the day with a challenge?

Or so seems to be the logic for the owners of a burger van in Wales, who instead of serving their fry-ups on a plate, have started jamming it into an entire loaf of bread. Yes, it's the best thing since before sliced bread.

The monstrous creation was devised by Rolling Rolls burger van in Bridgend, after a customer - we're not casting aspersions, but let's not rule out the possibility that they were pissed at the time - suggested it could make a fun challenge.

Crammed into the loaf are four sausages, four rashers of bacon, four eggs and four hash browns. And beans. What do we reckon? Into it? Against it? Either way, the monster-sized brekkie has proven to be a hit.

Speaking to Wales Online, owner Michelle Preston, 52, said: "Someone asked us to start it as a challenge and we thought why not?

"It has proved really popular with customers and so many people have been trying to finish it.

"It's quite a large breakfast and really it's for two people but most people seem to eat the whole thing by themselves."

'Most people'? Seriously? Oh well, if you say so.

The meal is priced at £10, but for those worried they may be left a little peckish, there is the option to squeeze in a couple of black puddings for an extra £2.

But how on earth do they create such a thing of beauty? There must be dumbfounding levels of craftsmanship involved, you'd think.

Well, yes. Yes there are.

Basically, what they do is cook a fry-up, as you would normally, before hollowing out a loaf of bread and buttering the inner walls, ramming the various ingredients inside and putting the top back on. Bon appétit.

If, however, you are a vegetarian reading this and dreaming of what a loaf of bread filled with veg may taste like, dream no more, because the pioneering owners have plans to create a vegetarian equivalent.

So what are you waiting for? Hop in the car and head down to the van on Tremains Road, where the breakfast is served until 2pm on weekdays. Alternatively, next time you make a fry-up, buy an extra loaf of bread and just shove all the ingredients inside it. Or, just cook the fry-up as you normally would and serve it with a slice or two of toast, saving the rest of the loaf for another meal.
