During the early morning ceremony, she recited her vows and then put on a wedding ring in the service at the Cauayan Memorial Gardens in Cauayan, Isabela, Philippines.

Macadangdang, who had just graduated from university and was planning to take a job abroad, was killed when a wealthy businessman used his car to ram three motorcycles after a row outside a bar.

The alleged killer, Aaron Christian Reyes, had chased after three motorcycles and smashed into them, injuring eight others in addition.

The wedding-funeral was agreed between the two families and although not legally binding was sanctioned by the church provided a priest.

The bride's father Antonio Delmend also took the opportunity to speak of his daughter's love for her partner, with the couple having been together since high school.

According to The Filipino Times, Jake and Zyrine were already engaged and due to tie the knot just days after the fatal incident took place on August 24 2018 in San Fermin, Cauayan City, Isabela.

This tragic story is just one of the heartbreaking marriages that have happened recently.

Three weeks ago, a dying father escorted his daughter down the aisle for her wedding while lying on a stretcher.

Pedro Villarin, 65, was suffering from terminal liver cancer but it was his last wish to walk his daughter, Charlotte, down the aisle for her wedding.

So the family hired an ambulance and a private nurse to take him to her big day, which was brought forward by two months, on August 9.

The ceremony took place in the city of Las Pinas, Manila, Philippines. The initial plan was for the proud dad to escort his daughter in a wheelchair he was not strong enough so the stretcher was used instead.

Relatives and wedding organisers helped to pull the stretcher towards the altar while Mr Villarin held onto his daughter's hand to give her away to the groom, Mark Cordova.
