A Russian model locked up in a Thai prison is calling on the US to help her get out in exchange for information about President Donald Trump.

Nastya Rybka, who also uses the name Anastasia Vashukevich, says she's been held in a detention centre in Thailand since 26 February for her part in running so-called 'sex training' sessions in the city of Pattaya. Nine other Russians have also been arrested, CNN reports.

Rybka has said she is from Belarus, but got into Thailand using a Russian passport, an official told the news outlet.

While on her way to the detention centre, Rybka filmed and uploaded a video to her Instagram account in which she begged US journalists to help, in exchange for information about alleged links between the US President and Russia.

In the clip she says: "I'm ready to give you all the missing puzzle pieces, support them with videos and audios, regarding the connections of our respected lawmakers with Trump, Manafort and the rest. I know a lot. I'm waiting for your offers and I'm waiting for you in a Thai prison."

According to the Washington Post, in a second live video she said: "In exchange for help from US intelligence services and a guarantee of my safety, I am prepared to provide the necessary information to America or to Europe or to the country which can buy me out of Thai prison."

Rybka is currently still in prison in Thailand but appears to have access to a phone and is posting updates to her Instagram account.

This isn't the first time Rybka has hit headlines, though. In Russia, the opposition politician Alexei Navalny published an investigation on his anti-corruption website which looked into her links with some of Russia's most powerful players.

Navalny's investigation shared footage of the model from 2016 when she was on a yacht with billionaire Oleg Deripaska and the deputy prime minister Sergey Prikhodko.

In the video, it's reported the two men can be heard talking openly about the bad relationship between Russia and the US. Navalny said his investigation proves the links between Russia's rich oligarchs and its government. He has also suggested that the two men may have been the link between the Russian government and the Trump campaign.

CNN contacted Prikhodko but has yet to receive a response.
