Donald Trump Awkwardly Leaning Into Kiss Hope Hicks Goodbye Has Become A Meme

President Donald Trump said goodbye to his former communications director Hope Hicks with an awkward kiss on the cheek and a handshake.

As the pair parted ways in front of a mob of camera's Trump could be seen proudly pointing at Hicks while flashing a beaming smile to the waiting press.

He gave her a peck on the cheek, before shaking her hand. So far so public relations-friendly. But he then appeared to go in for a second kiss - very continental - just as Hicks walked away before it could land.

Slightly awkward, but I'm sure he's been through worse.

The former model then strode away and Trump walked off in the opposite direction.

Over on Twitter, as ever, Trump come in for a bit of stick with many people saying pointing out how awkward it was, and some saying it was unprofessional for him to kiss Hicks at all, one woman called him 'skeevy', whatever that means, and another asked if he 'only kissed female members of staff'.

Anyway, he ended up becoming a bit of meme, which again, is nothing new to him:

Yet more eagle-eyed news fans turned to social media to say they'd spotted Hicks apparently wiping her hand on her skirt after shaking hands with the president.

Hicks had worked for Trump since before he was president, having previously worked for daughter Ivanka, she moved over to handle press operations in 2015. However, she resigned last month, the day after she admitted under oath that the Pres needed her to 'tell white lies' occasionally.
