Atletico Nacional Ask CONMEBOL To Award Copa Sudamerica To Chapecoense

Following the horrific news of the plane crash which has claimed the lives of 77 people, including the majority of the Chapecoense squad en route to the Copa Sudamerica final in Colombia, the Brazilian team's would be opponents in the final, Atletico Nacional, have made an incredible gesture.

The Colombian team have requested that South American governing body CONMEBOL award the Sudamerica title, the continent's second most prestigious tournament, to Chapecoense.

Of course, given the tragic loss of life, the title will be of little relevance to anyone involved with Chape at this time, but it is still a beautiful gesture for the Colombian outfit to make, given the circumstances.

Once again, our thoughts go out to the families and friends of everyone involved in the crash.
