We're all rooting for the England Women's football team in tonight's semi-final against the United States - and if you weren't already, you should be.

Something to make it all the more interesting is that Budweiser, the official partner of the England team, has pledged to give free beers to all fans across the country if the Lionesses reach next week's FIFA Women's World Cup Final.

The announcement comes after the team's 3-0 victory against Norway last week, which saw fans across the country roaring their support for the Lionesses.

In response, Budweiser will give away 100,000 complimentary bottles of Budweiser, should the Lionesses emerge victorious from tonight's semi-final against the USA.

The beers will be available in retailers across England via a simple printable token, available to redeem following the final whistle in the event of an England win.

The pledge is part of Budweiser's efforts to get the nation behind the Lionesses, giving the team a chance to shine as they showcase their ambition and passion, on the road to making English sporting history.

No England side has gone beyond the semi-final stage in a FIFA World Cup since the men's side won in 1966.

The Lionesses reached the semi-finals in 2015 in Canada, losing 2-1 to Japan and eventually coming third via a 1-0 victory against Germany. The men's team has fallen twice at this stage, losing on penalties to West Germany in 1990 after a 1-1 draw, and then 2-1 after extra time to Croatia in 2018.

Matt Leadbeater, Marketing Manager at Budweiser, said: "As official partner to the England Women's Senior team, we wanted to take this moment to help bring a nation together to toast the Lionesses as they potentially step into history.

"We want everyone in the country to come together to lend their support - and we want as many people as possible to celebrate as one, if the team reaches England's first FIFA World Cup final in more than 50 years. To everyone cheering on the Lionesses - this Bud's for you, and it's on us."

Fans will be able to get their hands on one of 25,000 four-packs of beer available for free - totalling 100,000 bottles of beer - in Budweiser's pledge to the nation.

To claim your coupon to be redeemed against complimentary Budweiser, those of legal drinking age who are living in England should visit budbeer.co.uk after the match this evening (1 July), where they can register their details before downloading and printing their coupon. This can be redeemed at all major retailers against any Budweiser pack.

Come on, ladies. Do it for the country - and the Budweiser drinkers among us.
