The MMA fighter dubbed 'The Notorious' has allegedly been involved in a brawl with a relative of criminal gang members in Dublin.
A death threat has reportedly been issued against Conor McGregor after he was allegedly the 'celebrity' involved in a fight with a relative of a senior Kinahan cartel criminal.
According to the Daily Mail, the gang is one of the biggest cocaine importers in Ireland and therefore an assault on anyone even remotely connected to them is a big deal.
The newspaper has published a Whatsapp message which reads: "The fella he bet [sic] up is one of the top lads in Kinehan gang. Graham 'The Wig' Whelan. They said they want €900K or they'll shoot him."
The paper reports that McGregor punched The Wig's relative because another man was being assaulted in a pub in Crumlin, Dublin.

While there is still no confirmation that the MMA fighter was involved, he himself has added fuel to the fire by uploading this to his Instagram page after initial reports only mentioned and unnamed 'celebrity':
With a hoodie obscuring most of his face, the caption on the post simply says: "The celebrity."
The Kinehan gang has reportedly been feuding with the Hutch gang for months, which has claimed 11 lives so far.
According to the Irish Independent, there are 'no plans at this stage' to interview McGregor over the incident.

A senior police source told the newspaper: "It is very fair to surmise that if there is an issue in this matter, the most likely way of the issue going away would be the offer or demand of money. This often happens in situations like this.
"It is important to note that this is not a Garda investigation and there is nothing to indicate that it will be."

McGregor will appear in court tomorrow for a completely unrelated matter.
The 29-year-old has been requested to appear at the Blanchardstown District Court over an alleged speeding offence. Police say he was travelling more than the 100km/h speed limit on the N7 Naas Road at Rathcoole, Co Dublin in March this year.
He reportedly paid the fine however forgot to attach his driver's licence and therefore the case was brought to court. Judge Miriam Walsh said McGregor has to appear in court himself or send a legal representative to act on his behalf.
Conor's business manager Alan Geraghty will be that representative.
