The world was captivated when Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather stepped into a boxing ring and went toe-to-toe for 10 rounds.

I know, I know, you're probably sick of hearing about the match by now, but there's no denying it was one of the biggest fights in history; not only because it featured two big-name athletes but also because it was between a UFC fighter and a boxer.

Well, there could soon be another match-up between the two sports that might come close to McGregor and Mayweather: Dana White and Anthony Joshua.

Unfortunately, no, they're not going to step into the ring together (although never say never), but they could be working closely together. The UFC President has revealed his keen interest in working with the British Olympic gold medallist when he makes a foray into the boxing world.

Dana has told a press conference: "In my opinion, he's the most marketable guy in boxing."

He's not wrong considering Joshua was loudly tipped to become the first boxing billionaire, following a phenomenal win against Wladimir Klitschko. He's a loveable bloke from Watford with a clean fighting record of 20 wins from 20 matches.

This isn't the first time White has shown interest in Joshua, having uploading this photo to his Instagram page following the win against Klitschko.

The UFC chief wrote: "Boxing had been dying waiting for an exciting heavyweight champion.

"Now they have it in Anthony Joshua, congrats champion."

There's no word on what professional relationship White and Joshua could form, or whether the boxer is even interested - however it could mean big things for both parties. Dana told people in October at Freddie Roach's Wild Card West boxing club that he was '100 percent' getting into the sport.

According to Boxing Scene, the 48-year-old said: "Right now, I have two different plans. I have a Plan A and a Plan B. And I'm not sure which I'm gonna go with.

"But I'm gonna sit down, I'm gonna talk to everybody in the industry.

"They all want to come out here, they all want to talk.

"Fighters want to come out here and talk. So many people. So I'm gonna take like a month at the beginning of the year and just focus on this thing and see what we're gonna do.

"I think that right now is the right time," he said. "I just feel it. I feel like it's the right time. Listen, can I do it? I don't know. Will it work? I don't know. But I feel like I have a pretty good idea of how to make it work. And I'll give it a shot."
