British Superbike star Luke Mossey has miraculously survived a dramatic crash at Lincolnshire's Cadwell Park, being left with just a hairline fracture.

Video footage shows the 26-year-old coming off his bike and being thrown into the air. He can be seen speeding round the circuit, slowing down for the corner and then suddenly loses his balance.

The OMG Racing Suzuki team rider is then flung 6 feet in to the air for around 20 metres, thankfully landing on the grass verge, before sliding across the tarmac all the way to the other side of the track.

He's narrowly missed by another rider who was just behind him while his bike crashes behind him, spinning across the track.

Spectators can be heard exclaiming their shock, with one woman appearing to put her hands behind her head, potentially expecting the worst.

Miraculously, Luke got away with relatively minor injuries, suffering a hairline fracture in the top of his leg, in what could have been a very different story.

He casually posted about the incident on Twitter, as if he didn't just completely terrify anyone who saw it.

He confirmed that he's taking some time to recover, but will be at Oulton Park in a few weeks. Think it's fair to say he's pretty hard.

Comments from well-wishers have come flooding in, with many commenting on how lucky he is to have come out of the whole thing relatively unscathed.

One Facebook user commented: "Hope you have a speedy recovery, you're guardian angels were certainly looking out for you!"

Another said: "Just one reason why proper biking clothes are important when out on your bike! If he didn't have a helmet on I'm confident he'd of died from head trauma. I'm glad he was wearing protective clothing and helmet. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. xxx"

Others commended the rider behind him for his quick thinking at missing him.

Someone else said: "Seen some big offs at Cadwell but that, that's another level. Well done to the other ride for some pretty quick thinking to avoid hitting him. Speedy recovery Luke."
