Stories relating to utterly ridiculous bets coming in are a regular occurrence but we can safely say this is the greatest one you will ever come across.

A 59-year old woman from Kent, has pocketed nearly £575,000 from a £1 accumulator despite having no interest in football whatsoever.

The unnamed punter only started putting on bets so that she had an added investment in games that she was watching with her son and husband, who are both football enthusiasts and support Spurs.

But incredibly, she was the recipient of the hefty sum after correctly predicting the results of 12 games thanks to Bournemouth's dramatic 92nd minute winner against Newcastle at St James' Park on Saturday. She definitely owes Steve Cook, scorer of the all-imporant goal, a few pints.

12 teams were picked out on the accumulator, with 11 of her selections being the outsider/underdog teams whom the odds were against - struggling Bolton beating Norwich in the Championship and Burnley defeating Southampton 1-0 away in the Premier League being two of the stand-out results to come through.

William Hill say that she made her decisions based on the teams she thought sounded nice - which is of course the best way to do your acca.

The bet was placed at a William Hill store in Leysdown, and shop manager Carli Faulkner says it's the biggest sum she's ever paid out, by some margin.

"This is the biggest win I have ever handled and all for just a quid," she said.

"It is incredible that the woman got them all up. This just goes to show it can happen.

"She will be having a cracking Christmas. I am delighted for her. It's real girl-power landing a bet like that. My biggest ever payout before was around £25,000."

William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams had the following to say about the unbelievable pay-out:

"Apparently, her husband had been doing the £1 weekend accumulator since he was 18. She started doing the same bet six years ago. She certainly had Lady Luck on her side as her hubby had never won anything like that.

"It just goes to show that if you can't beat them, join them. The payout in this case is absolutely fantastic. We wish them well."

Here are the twelve bets and odds that returned £574,278.41:

Huddersfield to beat West Brom: 6/4

Bournemouth to beat Newcastle: 5/2

Burnley to beat Southampton: 4/1

Brighton to beat Swansea: 15/8

Sheff Wed to beat Aston Villa: 5/2

Barnsley to beat Birmingham: 11/8

Bolton to beat Norwich: 11/5

Reading to beat Derby: 16/5

Ipswich to beat Preston: 8/5

Burton to beat Millwall: 10/3

Notts Forest to beat QPR: 11/10

Sheff Utd to beat Hull: 8/11
