Users on Twitter appear to have discovered a feature on Apple's iPhone that saves nudes and provocative photos to a specific default folder dubbed 'Brassiere'.

The finding came after it was brought to one woman's attention. She wrote on Twitter: "ATTENTION ALL GIRLS ALL GIRLS!!! Go to your photos and type in the 'Brassiere' why are apple saving these and made it a folder!!?!!?"

One of her followers tested it out and said it appeared she was correct. The follower wrote: "I dead ass thought this shit was a joke until I literally did it... I'm creeped out but not surprised."

From there, a number of others tested out the feature and appeared to confirm its existence.

According to TechCrunch, an automatic feature has been categorising your pictures for over a year following a June 2016 iOS update.

They wrote: "The computer vision tech used by Apple runs natively on your iPhone or iPad, meaning that it doesn't require you to upload all the images to the cloud. In can recognize faces in your photos and group by person, but it also has advanced object recognition, making it possible to find images of any number of different things from your distant past."

Apple's metadata identifies 4,432 keywords in all of its recognised languages to compartmentalise the different type of photos you take, which is useful in theory but in practice can turn out feeling a bit weird.

The company has been getting quite a bit of flack. Steve Wozniak, who co-founded Apple with Steve Jobs, has said he won't be rushing to upgrade to the iPhone X, because he thinks it will be pretty much the same as the older models.

Speaking to CNBC, he said: "I am just worried about what it provides me.

"I'd rather wait and watch that one. I'm happy with my iPhone 8, which is the same as the iPhone 7, which is the same as the iPhone 6, to me.

"I think I will watch other people in this case."

LADbible has reached out to Apple for comment on the issue of nude photo categorisation.
