A horrified man has found killer dog biscuits sadistically laced with nails on the ground at a common dog walking spot.
Adrian Hitchmough, 31, found the nails while walking his family's Alaskan malamutes at Pickering Pasture nature reserve near Widnes, Cheshire this morning.
Hitchmough had both his dogs Tia and Skye on leads before they pulled him over to a stretch of grass, after smelling the dangerous 'treats' and making an attempt to eat them.

Thankfully, Adrian held the dogs back while he had a proper look at what they were trying to eat before they did so. He was angered by what he found, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Hitchmough found two small dog biscuits each with three nails pushed through each of them which could easily have been eaten by dogs.
Adrian's mum Susan said that the dog biscuits could have had 'catastrophic' consequences for the dogs and warned people to watch out.

"We are disgusted. We go down to that park on dog walks all the time but we won't go there again," Susan, 50, told the Liverpool Echo.
"My son took the dogs for a walk this morning and they were on the lead. The dogs went over to get these biscuits after smelling them but Adrian pulled them back.
"He brought the dogs straight back home with these and I phoned my husband to tell him what had happened.
"There are lots of dog walkers that go there and I'd just like to warn them about this."
It's an occupational hazard of being a dog owner that dogs will often go out of their way to find and eat something that they really shouldn't.

For example, last year one dog accidentally got stoned and had to be taken to a vet after it came across and ate a joint while on a walk.
Chloe O'Neil, owner of one-year-old Weimaraner Gunnar, had to take the dog to the vet, taking a video of it in the waiting room with glazed eyes and an unsteady gait while it leaned its head against a wall.
DOG EATS WEDDING CAKE ON MORNING OF WEDDING DAY:
While there are often worrying stories about things dogs have mistaken for food, sometimes dogs eating something they shouldn't can be downright funny.

One example - in the video above - is also from last year, where a labrador Bella managed to eat a full three-tier chocolate wedding cake on the morning of its owners' wedding.
Thankfully Bella was fine from eating the chocolate and the couple managed to get a replacement cake arranged just in time.
Still, it all serves as a warning to keep an eye on what your dogs eat. One wrong 'meal' and it might be too late.
