Another Heatwave Could Be On the Cards For Parts Of Britain

Another Heatwave Could Be On the Cards For Parts Of Britain

Britain's south is expected to bask in some lovely vitamin D, however it's not great for everyone

Look Britain, we're nearly in the middle of May and the temperature is certainly not reflecting the time of year we're in. Usually May is the golden month where the heavens open up and the sun shines down - and yet Mother Nature has only doled out dribs and drabs of Vitamin D.

Well, do we have news for you.

According to the Sun, forecasters reckon the mercury could climb to 20 degrees, which would be bloody nice.

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem as though everyone will be enjoying the sun. The south is expected to lap up the lovely conditions, whereas the north is forecast to get intermittent showers.

Met Office forecaster Sophie Yeomans told the Express: "Temperatures will possibly come up again after the weekend as current models show another region of high-pressure building.

"We think it might turn gradually warmer again through next week and while there is still a lot to play for, all the computer models show there is a chance that this could come off.

"The high-pressure build is the only similarity to the weather we have had over the past few days that we can see at the moment, it is still early in terms of predicting exactly what will happen."

It's not going to be like the heatwave that hit the UK at the start of May - which I think we can all agree was goddamn gorgeous. Parts of Britain sweltered through the hottest May Day Bank Holiday on record.

The mercury climbed to a whopping 28 degrees in some parts.

There is some doubt over whether this dry and warm spell will actually turn into a heatwave as the Met Office defines that as 'when the daily maximum temperature of more than five consecutive days exceeds the average maximum temperature by 5 °C, the normal period being 1961-1990'.

If we do get some glorious sunshine, can we please not do what some people did during the May Day Bank Holiday?

Sadly, many people took the piss and treated a number of UK beauty spots like a bin.

Photos showing beaches, parks and other popular sites absolutely covered in litter have been shared online and it's pretty grim. Piles of trash, including empty beer cans and bottles, disposable barbeques, food packaging and takeaway containers were left behind as hordes of people made the most of the gorgeous weather.

Let's just all be good human beings and clean up after ourselves.
