'Baby Shark' Toys Are Going On Sale Just In Time For Christmas

And they sing too...

It's official - Baby Shark toys are a thing. So be warned, parents: the kids' song you love to hate (or is that the other way around?) is in no danger of going away any time soon.

The cuddly critters don't actually go on sale until Saturday 15 December, but are available to pre-order on Amazon - and considering their singing US counterparts sold out in three days, it's probably best to get on top of it now.

The toys have been produced by WowWee for Pinkfong, who are responsible for the unavoidable and horrendously catchy song (so if you're wondering who to blame...), and now you can pick up IRL models of Mummy, Daddy and, of course, Baby Shark for yourself.

It turns out what could be a Christmas favourite toy of the year doesn't come with the most appealing price tag - buying Mummy and Daddy Shark will set you back $64.99 (£50) and $79.99 (£62) each.

Yeah, just take that in for a moment - that's the cost of some stuffed singing teddies inspired by a viral song for infants. It's the moment you always dreamed of, isn't it?

There's another catch - the most prominent member of the Shark family that your child is 100 percent likely to want, the name-sake Baby Shark isn't actually available in the UK.

Yes, you can get, Mummy and Daddy but not Baby.

But fear not- or do - there is a slightly cheaper alternative you could go for instead, in the form of Baby Shark cube toys.

These square versions of the song's titular character are smaller than the ones mentioned above, but on the plus side they'll only set you back a more modest £35 ($44.99) - and of course they still 'sing', so you can bawl along with the little ones to your heart's content. Well, you'll probably have to.

With the song's popularity going off the scale this year, it's likely kids everywhere will be adding these colourful toys to their Christmas lists - so be prepared for 'em to sell out before you can get your hands on one.

Doo doo, doo doo doo doo.

ARGH.
